ATLANTA, Ga. — People were back walking, running and biking along the Atlanta Beltline Sunday after reported gunfire sent people scrambling for safety near Ponce City Market the night before.
The incident happened exactly one week after a deadly stabbing in the same busy area.

A restaurant employee told Channel 2 Action News the area cleared out within seconds after gunfire was heard Saturday night. He said people ran for cover and hid in nearby areas.
Atlanta police responded to reports of gunfire along the Beltline near Ponce City Market. Details about whether anyone was injured or whether anyone was arrested were not immediately available.
By Sunday afternoon, the scene looked much different.
Families, runners and cyclists filled the popular stretch of the Beltline, while an increased police presence could be seen in the area.
The activity came as a memorial remained nearby for 29-year-old Ramon Harris, who was fatally stabbed in the area on August 23.
Flowers and a stuffed animal had been left at the site in memory of Harris, serving as a reminder of the violence that has occurred along the busy corridor.

For some people visiting the Beltline Sunday, the recent incidents have changed how they approach the area.
Atlanta resident Jenah Kelly said people need to remain aware of their surroundings.
“You definitely need to keep your head on a swivel when you are walking around here. It doesn’t matter what race, what gender you are, anybody can be a victim,” Kelly said.
Despite the recent violence, the Beltline remained busy Sunday, with people continuing to enjoy the popular Atlanta destination.
