Jovita Moore shares a personal health battle to spotlight women's health

Channel 2 Action News anchor Jovita Moore shares her nearly twenty year struggle with uterine fibroids, a health issue that affects millions of women around the country.  She recently underwent a minimally invasive procedure to end the symptoms she’s dealt with for nearly two decades.
To gain more insight into the condition that plagues most women in their reproductive years, Jovita spent some time with Good Morning America senior contributor and board-certified OB-GYN, Dr. Jennifer Ashton.  She offers important information on the medical options for women who suffer from fibroids.
“Fibroids shouldn't mean shutting down your life,” said Jovita Moore.  “They should mean that you can manage your situation and keep moving.”
The primetime special also explores the number one killer of all women, heart disease.  The latest research shows a growing number of young women are becoming victims of heart disease.  Jovita talks with two young Georgia mothers, who each suffered heart attacks in their thirties.  Jovita reveals the conversation every woman should have with her doctor about reducing her risk of heart disease.
