Johns Creek police investigating death of high school student

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating the death of a metro Atlanta teen.

An incident report said a friend found the teen unresponsive at a home Sunday morning. Friends have identified her as 16-year-old Carly Jackson. She was a student at Johns Creek High School.

Police released a statement that the death is being investigated by the criminal investigations division of the department:

“The Johns Creek Police Department can confirm that we are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a local female high school student found deceased on Sunday (2/14). The investigation is currently being investigated by our Criminal Investigations Division and the department is not at liberty to discuss any further details which could jeopardize the integrity of the investigation. As details of the investigation are able to be released we will continue to communicate them to the public.”
