The hurricane formed in the Gulf and remains on track to make landfall Friday night along the north central Gulf coast.
For Georgia impacts, Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says a track to our west means very heavy rain bands, possible flooding and the risk of brief tornadoes on Saturday.
A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for several counties. This means sustained tropical storm force winds 39+ mph are possible within 48 hours. Gusts will be higher.
