Heather Catlin joins Channel 2 Action News This Morning as new traffic anchor

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News This Morning is excited to welcome Heather Catlin as the team’s new traffic anchor.

Catlin will join Fred Blankenship, Lori Wilson, Linda Stouffer and Meteorologist Brian Monahan starting on Friday, Aug. 20.

“It takes a special person to keep Georgians ahead of all the construction, crashes and traffic jams all over town,” News Director Suzanne Nadell said. “Heather grew up in Atlanta and knows the local roads and traffic hot spots. Her knowledge, combined with Triple Team Traffic is a big advantage for drivers looking for alternate routes before they leave for work and school.”

Catlin is no stranger to Channel 2 Action News and WSB-TV Channel 2 programming.

She has been a regular contributor on Channel 2 Action News This Morning, bringing viewers good news stories, entertainment stories and other local content during the week. For the past 12 years, Catlin has hosted Hot Topics, a syndicated entertainment show, and co-hosted Bulldogs Game Day, a weekly sports special produced in partnership with the University of Georgia. Catlin will continue to handle these important roles every week.

“I’m so excited to join the Channel 2 Action News morning team in this new role. It’s an incredible honor,” said Catlin. “My goal is to make sure Georgians are prepared to get where they’re going on time and know what to expect on the drive home.”

With Catlin’s addition to the team, Mark Arum will be leaving Channel 2 Action News This Morning to focus full time on his 4-7 p.m. radio show on 95.5 WSB.

“This is a truly a bittersweet day,” said Arum. “It’s been such an honor to help Atlanta get to work and school every morning for the past 20 plus years. In a perfect world I would be able to continue to work both mornings and afternoons, but physically and mentally, it’s just not possible anymore. People already know and love Heather! Powered by Triple Team Traffic, I’m confident that commuters will be in great hands after I leave.”
