A heat advisory is in effect across most of north Georgia through Sunday evening.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon says the advisory will stay in effect through 8 p.m., with the heat index up to 105 degrees.

Afternoon storms will develop later Sunday, bringing a risk of strong and severe storms.
The main threat from those storms is the potential for damaging wind gusts.

Heading into Labor Day, Deon says temperatures will cool off some Monday, and it will be mostly cloudy. There’s also still a chance for isolated storms.
Early this week, Deon says the forecast will dry out, heating up to highs near 90 degrees.
