Woman texts 911 claiming she was kidnapped. A Hall County deputy found her out getting food.

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was arrested after deputies accused her of falsely reporting to 911 dispatchers that she was kidnapped.

On Tuesday, Hall County sheriff officials said 911 dispatchers received a text from 23-year-old Raven Nicole Thompson of Buford. The text said she was kidnapped.

During their text exchange, deputies say Thompson gave dispatchers a fake name and several locations in south Hall County where she claimed her kidnapper was taking her.

When dispatchers tried to call Thompson’s phone to get her to talk, they said she texted them saying she was deaf.

Deputies added that Thompson told dispatchers she was being held at gunpoint during the interaction.

A deputy soon located Thompson in a vehicle on McEver Road near Blackberry Lane after dispatchers pinged her phone.

According to deputies, Thompson was riding with her neighbors to get food and had not been a victim of a crime.

By the time she was located, Flowery Branch police and Oakwood police were assisting in her search.

Thompson was charged with unlawful conduct during a 911 call, reckless conduct, giving a false name/false information to police and false report of a crime.

She was booked into the Hall County Jail with a bond of $5,200.
