Police search for killer who gunned down man outside Gwinnett apartment unit

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for a killer who gunned down a man outside a Gwinnett County apartment building.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots late Monday night at the Oak Loch Trace, off Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross.

When officers arrived, they found the man’s body outside one of the units with the front door open.

Police said neighbors heard the gunshots but didn't see the shooter.

Investigators don’t have many leads right now, but they’re actively looking into who wanted this man dead.

“Trying to determine any information that could lead to a motive or any potential suspects in this situation,” said Officer Kylie Boney.

Channel 2 Action News was there as crime scene investigators snapped several pictures while detectives searched the unit and the parking lot looking for evidence.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

Authorities said they are also trying to determine if he lived in the complex.

“We don’t know if this is his residence, or if he was visiting a family member or friend,” Boney said.
