Police identify burned body found near busy intersection

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County police have identified a burned body found near a busy intersection.

Investigators said the remains of Raul Zapata-Garcia, 47, were found in the woods near the intersection of Satellite Boulevard and West Liddell Road. Investigators said Zapata-Garcia was shot at least once.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.

Detectives are asking that anyone who has information about Zapata-Garcia come forward. Witnesses and tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
