Child dead after crash with commercial truck on I-85 in Gwinnett County, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A deadly crash on I-85 in Gwinnett County involving a tractor-trailer has claimed the life of a child, according to police.

Gwinnett police say a crash involving a commercial truck and another car occurred on I-85 near Flowery Branch Road.

Police have requested Georgia State Patrol’s assistance in their investigation into the commercial truck that was involved.

Investigators have not commented on what led to the accident.

There is no word at this time on if there are any other injuries.

GSP says all northbound lanes are currently blocked as they investigate. Traffic is being redirected to the Hamilton Mill exit.

The Georgia Department of Transportation expects the crash to be cleared around 6:45 p.m.
