GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police say they have arrested a man who shot at police early Monday morning, causing a busy Gwinnett County road to be closed.
Highway 78 was closed in both direction near Summit Chase Drive for hours as authorities investigated.
According to Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach, Snellville officers were investigating a suspicious person around 3 a.m. and at some point, a man fired at an officer and the officer fired back.
“He fought with the officer, she pulled her Taser out, fired the Taser at him. The Taser was ineffective. The suspect pulled a handgun and fired at the officer. The officer returned fire,” said Det. Jeff Manley.
