Channel 2′s Lauren Pozen has been following the investigation since Saturday morning. Pozen arrived at the scene as investigators were collecting evidence, including the surveillance footage.

Investigators did not say how Smith was killed, but neighbors said they heard gunfire go off.

“I don’t know that any visible bullet wounds were observed. All I know is that there were visible injuries and bleeding," Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Jacob Albright said.

A neighbor told Pozen it’s a safe neighborhood and is in disbelief it turned into a crime scene.

“There’s nothing like that in the neighborhood," Casey Carter said. “I just feel so bad about the family who this happened to.”
