Grandson juggles to brighten spirits of former President Jimmy Carter

PLAINS, Ga. — Days after former President Jimmy Carter was placed under hospice care, one of his grandsons is trying to brighten his spirits.

James Carter IV tweeted a video on Tuesday that showed himself and his wife, Sally Carter, juggling for his grandparents, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, at their home in Plains, Ga.

“We are all juggling a lot lately. But yesterday my wife and I got to juggle for my grandparents. They loved it,” James Carter tweeted.

The video does not show the former president or first lady in the frame.

A release from The Carter Center on Saturday announced that President Carter and his family decided after a series of short hospital stays, that the 98-year-old “decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”

It is unclear if a specific health issue prompted this decision.
