Grand Jury indicts 4th man in videotaped beating of gay man

ATLANTA,None — A grand jury has indicted a fourth person believed to have been involved in a videotaped beating of a gay man in southwest Atlanta.

The incident happened last month outside a corner store in Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood.

The video of the beating of Brandon White, 20, went viral after it was posted on a website. Since then is has caused many community organizations to come forward and call for change.

Police have arrested three other men involved and Channel 2's Ryan Young was there Friday morning when a grand jury moved to indict a fourth suspect, Javaris Bradford, 24, in the beating as well.

"My perception is this was not a hate crime. Brandon White has denied knowing the individuals in the tape, and I'm not commenting on whether my client is in the tape or not, but I will say that my client did know Brandon White. Dorian Moragne, Brandon White knew each other prior to this incident," Moragne's attorney, Jay Abt, told Young.  Dorian Moragne, Dareal Demare Williams and Christopher Cain, and now Bradford face two counts of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and one count of participation in a criminal street gang activity.

Bail for Moragne was set at $40,000 Friday, but because he was on probation at the time of the attack, he's now waiting a probation revocation hearing.

When asked if Moragne was a gang member, Abt simply said, "No."

Williams, the third suspect caught, remains in Erie, Pa., where he's awaiting and extradition hearing.

Young said people in the Pittsburgh neighborhood told him the fight may have been over a cellphone.
