The city banned smoking and vaping on all Tybee beach areas and beach crossovers in June.

A 30-day warning period ended July 1. Violators now face up to a $300 fine for violations.

The $300 fine is the same amount as littering, bringing glass or breakable containers to the beach, disturbing dune vegetation or bringing pets on the beach, according to the city’s website.
