Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken leaving for NFL job

ATHENS, Ga. — Offensive coordinator Todd Monken is leaving the Georgia Bulldogs to return to the National Football League.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday that they have hired Monken as their new offensive coordinator.

“Todd’s leadership and coaching acumen were evident from the beginning. He has a proven track record for designing and teaching offensive systems that allow players to succeed at the highest level,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement.

Shortly after the announcement, the Bulldogs promoted offensive consultant and former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo to take over Monken’s job running Georgia’s offense.

“I am excited to name Mike Bobo our next Offensive Coordinator”, said Bulldogs Head Coach Kirby Smart. “Mike has a decade of experience as a successful SEC play-caller and over 20 years spent at UGA, both as a player and coach. Mike was an excellent addition to our staff last year as an analyst, and we are looking forward to his expanded leadership on the offensive side of the ball,” Smart added.
