ATKINSON COUNTY, Ga. — An inmate serving a life-without-parole sentence is accused of making a bomb threat against a school, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said the threat against an Atkinson County school was received Aug. 21.
The Atkinson County School chief of police requested the agency investigate.
Agents identified the suspect as Kendall Alfonzo Stevens, 37, originally from Savannah.

Stevens is currently incarcerated at Telfair State Prison, where he is serving a life-without-parole sentence.
The investigation indicates Stevens made the threat in an effort to disrupt school operations, according to the GBI.
The GBI is continuing its investigation.
Once it is complete, the case file will be turned over to the Alapaha District Attorney’s Office for review.
