SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police have released video showing a chase that ended with what they said was the city’s slowest pit.

The chase happened Aug. 22 after an officer stopped a white Mazda on Roswell Road near Sandy Springs Circle.
Police identified the driver as Peter Wetche, who initially stopped near Johnson Ferry Road and Sandy Springs Circle.
As the officer approached the car, Wetche drove away, prompting a chase, according to police.

During the chase, officers identified a location where a PIT maneuver could be safely performed, according to police.
The maneuver successfully ended the chase, and Wetche was taken into custody.
The Sandy Springs Police Department described the incident as the “slowest PIT in Sandy Springs.”
Wetche was charged with fleeing and eluding and failure to obey a traffic control device.
