Fox Theatre highlights storied history with artifacts display

ATLANTA — You can step back in time this weekend at the Fox Theatre. It’s a rare opportunity to explore artifacts from a century of history.

Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer shows what’s new this year.

For the first time, the Atlanta History Center is bringing treasures, like the coat Margaret Mitchell wore to the “Gone with the Wind” premiere, which was in Atlanta in 1939.

The fabulous Fox Theatre’s Archives Day is Sunday, and visitors will also have a chance to explore Mighty Mo, learning about the history of the organ and the recent refurbishment, and the historic theatre’s 100-year-old organ will also be featured in two concerts.

“I mean who would have thought before a show,” Jamie Vosmeier said. “It is a truly magical experience.”
