Metro Atlanta couple find sweet way to introduce new baby to family during pandemic

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — We’ve all heard of gender reveal parties, but one metro Atlanta couple adapted the tradition pandemic-style to have a “baby reveal” for their family.

Alex Marbut and her husband Brett sent sweet video to Channel 2 Action News of the moments they revealed their new bundle of joy to their family, who stood outside the window of their hospital room.

A nurse pulled up the shades to allow about 10 family members standing outside a glimpse of baby Stella, all decked out in pink. Outside, family members wore personalized shirts welcoming the newborn while they clapped and cried as her dad showed her off.

Alex Marbut said Northside Hospital in Forsyth helped them pull off the big reveal and her doctor was the one who was behind the camera.

“We did not arrange to be on the 1st floor— we got very lucky!” Marbut said. “As soon as we saw we were by the parking lot on the first floor we called our family (they all live an hour away in Winder) and told them what window was our room.”

Marbut said having a baby during a pandemic was not easy, but the hospital and her family made the day special anyway.

“The virus did not take away from our experience!” Marbut said.
