Herschel Walker supporters say they don’t believe abortion allegations as he hits the campaign trail

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Senate candidate Herschel Walker is back on the campaign trail on Thursday after a new round of abortion allegations against him.

Walker has stood firm on his belief that an abortion ban, without any exceptions, is necessary for Georgians. Earlier this week, a second woman anonymously claimed that Walker paid of her to have an abortion in the 1990s.

Channel 2′s Richard Elliot was at Walker’s Forsyth County campaign event where supporters told him they don’t believe or don’t care about the allegations.

Brent Cox, a Republican candidate for State House, told Elliot he doesn’t believe the allegations, but it is crucial that Walker wins the Senate seat.

“I don’t know if I believe they’re true. Obviously, there’s details we do not know, and, ultimately, I trust Herschel Walker,” Cox said.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham joined Walker at the rally.

Walker did not directly address the newest allegations made by an unidentified woman. She claims the two had a long extra-marital affair and that Walker paid for her to have an abortion in 1993 and drove her to the clinic.

On Wednesday, Walker called the allegation a lie.

“So come at me where you might, because, let me tell you, they come after me today, they’re going to come after you tomorrow. But I can tell you right now, they can’t take me down, because I’m a bad man. I can tell you that right now,” Walker said.

Dani Kologranic told Elliot that she is not a Walker supporter, but she felt it was important for her and her young daughter to hear what he had to say.

“I feel like this is really important, especially in this red county, to speak out for all my rights as a woman and her future reproductive rights,” she explained.

Sen. Warnock’s campaign released a statement on Thursday afternoon that insisted Walker is the one who has a problem with the truth.
