CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — A now-former jailer is facing charges over allegations of “professional misconduct.”
The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office on Friday announced the arrest of Detention Officer Derwin Johnson.

Johnson was arrested on Friday and charged with violation of oath of office.
Officials say he will also face charges of giving contraband to inmates in the Clarke County Jail.
Details on what led up to his charges have not been released.

“The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office holds our team to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct,” said Sheriff John Q. Williams.
He will be transported and held at the Barrow County Jail.
