SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — Dolly Parton still has one more song left for the world.
The beloved country music singer died on Tuesday at the age of 80, but she previously recorded a song to be released after her death.
Tucked away in a wooden time capsule “Dream Box” at her theme park Dollywood, is a recording of “My Place in History,” the song written to be released as her last.

In 2022, Parton appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and said she didn’t want to wait any longer to share the song with fans.
But the time capsule will be locked away until what would be Parton’s 100th birthday, January 19, 2046.
“You have no idea how that has bothered me,” she told Clarkson. “I wanna go dig that up so bad. It’s a really good song!...It’s just burning me up inside that I have to leave it in there.”

A sign next to “Dream Box” says that only Parton knows the song’s melody and content.
“I figure it’ll probably disintegrate and nobody will ever hear it, that’s what bothers me. If it rots in there before they open it,” she told Clarkson.
