COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Two men were charged with aggravated animal cruelty after deputies said they put a live dog in a plastic bag and disposed of it in the woods.
Alan Thompson and Jacob Burke were also charged with cruelty to children for committing the act in front of a young person, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said they responded to the Red Carpet Inn around 9:50 p.m. Aug. 7. The juvenile witness told them the two man put the dog in the bag, place it in a grocery cart and roll it away.
The witness said the dog was trying to get out of the cart while it was still in the bag.
Deputies found the dog alive and provided aid until it was turned over to Animal Control.
Thompson and Burke were placed under arrest.
