16-year-old carjacking suspect in custody

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 16-year-old carjacking suspect, who deputies shot, is now in custody.

The search had neighbors on edge Friday at the Windward Forest Apartments off Hillandale Drive in DeKalb County.

Rockdale  County deputies chased the suspect, accused of pistol-whipping a man before stealing his car.

"It's just so close to home. It just scared me to death," said neighbor Cherie Woolfolk.

Deputies said  the 16-year-old suspect drove himself to Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday night.
