Police said Chad Brooks, Sr. was arrested for murder in the second degree and cruelty to children in the second degree. Police said they don’t think Brooks was the shooter, but believe another child in the home found the gun.

On Thursday, investigators told Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes that the shooting was accidental.

Investigators said several minors were in the home and they are still working to figure out who fired the fatal shot.

It is unclear what Brooks’ relationship is to the child.
