Man hospitalized after shootout with police after chasing a woman through a parking lot, police say

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A DeKalb County man is recovering from being shot after he chased a woman through a parking lot with a gun, according to police.

Officers were called to the Heritage Reserve Apartments at 3:30 p.m. Monday in reference to a domestic violence call.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gun chasing a woman through the parking lot.

In trying to take the man into custody, shots were fired from both sides and the suspect was hit.

SWAT responded to the area and was able to take the man into custody. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injuries.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested to conduct the investigation.
