PHILADELPHIA/DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Pennsylvania deputes have a Georgia man in custody, accused of crossing state lines while pursuing a domestic violence victim.

The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office said they arrested N’tyrance Davis on Tuesday in what they described as a coordinated effort between Philadelphia law enforcement officers, Georgia prosecutors and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis was under electronic monitoring after an aggravated assault and domestic violence arrest.

The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office learned about Davis on Oct. 10, when one of the office’s captains received information from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office about him.

The sheriff’s office said his victim had moved to Philadelphia with help from a Georgia-based victim assistance program.

Georgia authorities told Philadelphia deputies that Davis had learned where his victim was through social media and removed his ankle monitor, then tried following her to Philadelphia.

Authorities shared reports with Philadelphia from family and friends that Davis intended to kill the victim.

Georgia prosecutors got a full-extradition arrest warrant for Davis on Monday after the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office learned of a possible relative in their community.

Sheriff’s office personnel received a picture of Davis and units began pursuing leads, the agency said in a statement.

On Tuesday, the DeKalb County District Attorney told the sheriff’s office that the victim told them Davis had found her, then the office was unable to contact her.

Deputies in West Philadelphia found Davis hiding at a relative’s residence, hiding in the back of the first floor.

“Survivors of domestic violence deserve safety and protection,” Sheriff Rochelle Bilal said. “Our deputies acted quickly, worked across state lines, and took this fugitive into custody without incident. I commend their commitment to protecting a survivor facing a serious threat.”

Davis was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice.

Georgia victim assistance personnel were able to get back in contact with the victim, who told them Davis had taken her phone after finding her but she was able to escape.

Under an extradition warrant, Davis will be transported back to Georgia, but it is unknown at this time when that may be.
