2 killed, 1 in critical condition in head-on car crash, DeKalb County police say

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating a crash that killed two people.

Authorities told Channel 2 Action News on Saturday at 2:43 a.m. officers received reports of a crash on Fairington Road near Willowick Drive.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles damaged from the accident.

The investigation revealed that a car driven by a man in his 20s was attempting to pass another vehicle.

When he tried to pass the car, he collided head-on with a vehicle being driven by a man in his 50s who had a passenger in his 60s.

Police said the driver, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, in his 20s, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Authorities confirmed the passenger, in his 60s, was also taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

None of the identities of the victims have been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
