COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A Louisiana man was arrested in Coweta County after a high-speed chase with police with his three kids in the car over the weekend.

Palmetto police said a purple Dodge Charger was racing down the interstate in Coweta County.

A Coweta County sheriff’s deputy waited for the car along the interstate and saw the Charger speed by at 100 mph.

When the deputy tried to pull him over, the driver, later identified as Bryan Hampton, 29, sped up to 150 mph.

As the chase continued south, Grantville police prepared themselves to intercept the car as it crossed into their jurisdiction.

Once the car was stopped, Hampton was taken into custody. Officers then learned that Hampton’s fiancé and three children were also in the car. At least one of the children was not wearing a seatbelt.
