Sketch released of child found in Chattahoochee in hopes of identifying her

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County police released a sketch of the toddler that was found floating in the Chattahoochee River on Thursday.

Cobb County police have arrested Breyanla Cooper, who they say concealed the child’s death. She made her first appearance in front of a Cobb County judge this evening.

Cobb Police initially thought the child’s body had been in this area of the river for two days. Channel 2 was able to obtain the arrest warrant that helped clear up the timeline of events. The warrant shows the woman allegedly dumped the child in the Chattahoochee River last Saturday.

“It is horrible. I hope it’s not true for her sake,” said neighbor Cheryl Robinson.

Cooper is currently locked up at the Cobb County Jail without bond.

“I pray that everything works out, and I’m just so sorry this happened. I’m sorry about the baby,” said Robinson.

Cobb police say the relationship between Cooper and the toddler found dead in the water has not been confirmed.
