COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Marietta Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Sunday at 2:51 a.m.

Officers responded at 2:51 a.m. to Interstate 75 southbound, at the exit ramp of Delk Road, and found a car that had struck the center barrier wall.
Police believe James Appleton was driving his 2016 Dodge Challenger when he lost control of his car and went across all lanes before hitting the center barrier wall.
It is unclear what led up to the crash.

Appleton was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
