Jury sends back guilty verdict in 15-year-old murder case

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Cobb County jury has returned a guilty verdict in a cold case from more than a decade ago.

Rodney Castlin was gunned down inside a Cobb County hotel by one of three gunmen.

It took a decade for police to arrest a suspect in the case.

Police said they found a finger print belonging to James Randolph on the front desk of the hotel. That finger print led to his arrest in the case, charging him with killing Castlin.

Randolph’s attorney tried to convince the jury that the finger print evidence was unreliable.

The jury started deliberating the case just before lunchtime. Shorly before 6 p.m. the jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts.
