COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Home Depot expanded its artificial intelligence shopping assistant, Magic Apron, to all U.S. stores today.
The tool is designed to assist customers and employees with product wayfinding, project guidance and item questions directly in store aisles.
Accessible through the retailer’s mobile app or by scanning in-store QR codes, Home Depot said its Magic Apron app builds on the company’s Store Mode feature launched in 2022.
The digital assistant provides multilingual support and handles millions of questions monthly from shoppers seeking local store information.

Magic Apron enables customers to search for items using text, voice-to-text or image uploads.
Shoppers can view store maps to locate specific aisle and bay positions, check item availability in their chosen store or nearby locations and review product compatibility.

Jordan Broggi, executive vice president of interconnected retail at The Home Depot, discussed the role of the digital tool in physical stores.
“Customers come to The Home Depot for expert guidance and we know they want their shopping experience to be easy and efficient,” Broggi said. “Magic Apron takes the best of our digital expertise and brings it into the physical store, creating a more connected shopping experience that helps customers find products, get project guidance and make decisions faster.”
The company said that even with Magic Apron, their store associates remain the core of the shopping experience at Home Depot stores.
