MARIETTA, Ga. — Police say despite multiple witnesses to the shooting of a 17-year-old high school student, nobody has spoken up. They’re hoping this video will encourage people to break their silence and do the right thing.

Grayson Green, 17, was shot and killed May 21. The incident occurred inside the Walton Village apartment complex on Roberta Drive.
Authorities said that despite multiple people witnessing the shooting, police have been unsuccessful in getting people to come forward to identify the shooter.
Marietta police spokesman Chuck McPhilamy says somebody knows something.
“What I do know is there’s a family grieving. And we desperately need someone to come forward and be courageous and help us hold that shooter accountable,” McPhilamy said.

Officials have released a new video in hopes that someone will speak up.
In the video, you can see several young adults leaving the complex immediately after the shooting began.
Where the camera is located, investigators believe the partygoers seen in the video, saw part of, or possibly the entire shooting.
“It’s important to remember none of these kids are presumed to have done anything wrong. They were simply attending a gathering. But based on that camera angle, we believe they were very close to where that shooting occurred,” McPhilamy said.
Channel 2 Action News spoke with the teen’s father a couple of weeks after the shooting.
He urged witnesses to say something.
“There’s a killer out there on the loose, and that shouldn’t even be happening right now. Everybody claims they love Grayson, then speak up for Grayson. Parents, imagine if this was your 17-year-old who’d been shot and left to bleed out and die. Please watch the video, share the information, and encourage anyone who was at that gathering to do the right thing,” Tishamba Green said.
