Woman shot and killed at QT gas station in Clayton County police say

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County Police said a woman died after being found with a gunshot wound at a QT gas station Sunday night.

Police said they responded to reports of a person shot on the 5300 block of Riverdale Road around 9:35 p.m. They tried to render aid to the woman who was shot, but she died at the scene.

Police identified the suspect as Ja’quarius Thomas, who was arrested and later charged with malice murder and a weapons charge.

Police have not identified the woman who died or said what circumstances led up to the shooting.
