Canton police officer’s wife dies 2 weeks after giving birth

CANTON, Ga. — A Canton police officer’s wife has died just two weeks after giving birth.

Brianna Lee, 25, died Sunday of unexpected medical complications, according to a GoFundMe set up to help the family. She was a mom of two and wife to officer Jesse Lee.

Brianna Lee had just given birth to her daughter, Amelia. The couple’s son, William, is four.

Since her death, the Canton community has raised nearly $30,000 to help with funeral expenses and help Jesse Lee care for the children.

“During these trying times, we know it takes a village to raise a family. Not to mention Jesse being able to provide for his family and attempt to continue with anything close to normalcy as possible,” organizers wrote on the GoFundMe.

Jesse Lee is a Marine veteran. The couple met at Cherokee High School.
