Chamblee police catch suspect after chase, crash

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — A scary few minutes for some Chamblee residents Friday morning after a brief police pursuit and search that ended with one man in jail.

It all started in Dunwoody when police there came across a car with stolen license plates and tried to pull it over just before 10 a.m. The driver took off, while Dunwoody Police decided to not pursue it.

A short time later, Chamblee Police spotted the car only to see it crash into a utility pole at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and North Peachtree Avenue. According to police, two people were hurt in the crash and were transported to the hospital.

The driver ran from the scene behind Hennessey Ford/Lincoln car dealership where he was eventually caught.
