83-year-old woman found shot to death, police searching for suspect

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — Police are asking for the public's help to figure out who killed an 83-year-old woman in her home Saturday.

The woman was found shot to death on Burwell-Mt. Zion Road.

Police are asking for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to call 911.

"Even tips that seem insignificant can prove to be helpful no matter how small," the Carroll County Sheriff's Office wrote.

Deputies are asking the public to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.

The woman’s identity has not been released due to the active nature of the investigation.
