Police said a driver’s car left the road, and stuck a tree before it collided with the building. The 46-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital. Police said he is in critical condition.

Investigators said the animal hospital building has significant damage, but none of the damage appears it will affect the building’s structural integrity.

Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway visited the hospital Wednesday. Significant damage included tire marks on the ground, door completely torn off and debris scattered across the property.

Sharon Prather told Holloway she couldn’t believe all the damage when she came to pick up medicine for her dog.

“That’s a bad curve when you come around through there,” Prather said.

Prather said she hopes the community rallies behind the hospital’s owners.

“It’s great they’ve been here for me when I first got Kiara because I kind of inherited her,” she said. “I’ve had her for 2 year and this is where I started bringing her and when I first started bringing her I didn’t have a lot of money and they helped me out.”
