ATLANTA — Two boys are recovering after they were shot during an attempted break-in at a Waffle House late Monday night. The teens and the accused shooter are all facing charges.
The gunfire erupted around 10:30 p.m. at the Waffle House on 2914 Memorial Drive in southeast Atlanta. Police said the two boys, ages 13 and 14 years old, were breaking inside of a car, and the car’s owner saw it happening.

Investigators said he came outside with a gun and started shooting towards the car.

The boys took off running and several miles later ended up at a Chevron gas station on Flat Shoals Road and Fayetteville Road, nearly three miles away.
Both were shot in the leg.
The teens are facing charges of entering an auto and curfew violation. The accused shooter, Bryant Mayner, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
