Woman shot while riding in backseat of car on downtown Connector

ATLANTA — Police say a woman who was riding in a car on I-75/85 was shot by someone in another car.

Police said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police responded to reports of a woman shot at Piedmont Hospital. The victim told police she was in the back seat of her friend’s car when an unknown vehicle behind them flashed its lights several times before pulling up beside the car and firing a single shot.

The victim’s friend took her to the hospital, where she is stable.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black Lexus SUV.

Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim’s name has not been released.
