Woman shot multiple times when 2 strangers open fire on her car at Atlanta intersection

ATLANTA — Police said a woman was shot multiple times in her car after two people she didn’t know opened fire on her car early Wednesday morning.

Police said they responded to reports of a shooting around 3:20 a.m. near the intersection of Ralph D. Abernathy Boulevard and Inman Street.

Officers found a woman who had multiple gunshot wounds at a gas station on Windsor Street. She was able to tell police that she was stopped at an intersection on Ralph D. Abernathy when two people she did not know approached her car and opened fire.

She was able to drive her car to the gas station to call for help. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital and was stable.

Police are still working to identify the shooters.

This shooting was one of six in just six hours in metro Atlanta in which two people were killed.
