ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission announced a partnership creating an enhanced statewide educator job board, starting in 2027.
State officials said the initiative will merge the state’s TeachGeorgia and Teach in the Peach platforms into a single, unified system designed to streamline teacher recruitment and lower job vacancy rates.
The new platform will automatically sync open positions from local school district hiring websites, eliminating duplicate data entries.
Listings will also be syndicated to national employment sites such as Indeed.

GaDOE said the project directly implements recommendations from Georgia’s Strategic Plan for Educator Recruitment and Retention, created under Senate Resolution 237 in 2025.
The partnership addresses data management needs identified during the development of the state’s strategic recruitment plan.
“It became apparent during our development of SR 237, Georgia’s Strategic Plan for Educator Recruitment and Retention, that we needed better cross-agency data governance,” Joseph Barrow, executive secretary of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, said. “With the collaboration of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), we have done just that.”

For prospective educators, the unified portal will feature location-based job searches and customizable notification alerts for open positions, beginning in January 2027.
The system is designed to interface with local school districts’ existing recruitment tools, aiming to assist smaller and rural school systems that often face challenges reaching a wide pool of qualified applicants.
State School Superintendent Richard Woods said simplifying the application process for job seekers was important to addressing hiring needs across Georgia’s education system.
“Making Georgia the No. 1 state for teachers to teach means doing more than encouraging people to enter the profession. We also have to make it easier for them to find opportunities in our schools,” Woods said. He said the partnership “will help us connect more talented educators with the students and communities who need them, while taking unnecessary work off the plates of our local school districts.
Beyond job postings, the platform will also collect real-time data on educator vacancies and hiring trends across Georgia.
State officials said they plan to use this data to identify regional staffing shortages and will use it to guide workforce support.
Once operational, the statewide job board will be accessible through teachgeorgia.org and teachinthepeach.org. State officials plan to provide school districts with implementation details ahead of the launch date.
