DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A popular Tex-Mex restaurant in DeKalb County will be closing soon after nearly 20 years of business.
Tin Roof Cantina’s owners posted on social media that their landlord sold the property they rent on Briarcliff Road to a developer.
The restaurant said it is still waiting on the exact date but wanted to thank the customers for their support over the years.
“It is YOU who created the magic within the walls of this building. The customers, the staff, the bands, the friends who have all become our TRC family. The last 18 years have been some of the best of our lives, and we hope to make the most of what time we have left here with all of you who have supported us through those years.”

While the restaurant hasn’t been given a date it has to close by, Tin Roof Cantina will change their hours of operation starting Feb. 3.
The restaurant will open at 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and noon on Saturdays and for special events on select Wednesdays and Sundays.
“While this is not happy news to share, we sincerely hope that you will want to come spend time with us to say goodbye to the neighborhood bar that has been a staple for nearly 20 years. We would really love to see all of you over these next few months to celebrate and reminisce, so make plans to come see us and remember...THE TIN ROOF LOVES YOU!” the owners wrote.
