This North Georgia gem has been named the state’s best small town by Southern Living

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — If you’ve ever visited Dahlonega, you are well aware of its charm. That’s why the North Georgia gem has been named Georgia’s Best Small Town by Southern Living.

The picturesque downtown square features stores and restaurants that feature something for everyone.

“There’s something special about this place,” business owner Tony Owens told the magazine.

“Whether your perfect day involves wading knee-deep in the river panning for gold, strolling through art galleries, shopping in one-of-a-kind boutiques, or sipping perfection expressed in Georgia wine, Dahlonega is guaranteed to please,” Discover Dahlonega said on its website.

The foothills of the North Georgia mountains have the perfect conditions to grow grapes and make wine.
