SWAT situation shuts down busy roads in southeast Atlanta

ATLANTA — A man is in custody after he holed himself up inside an apartment following a domestic dispute Friday morning.

Authorities told Channel 2 Action News the man involved barricaded himself in an apartment along Martin Street SE around 7 a.m.

John Spink with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said he saw SWAT establishing a perimeter around the home.

The woman was able to get out of the apartment, a police spokeswoman said.

Shortly after noon, the man was escorted out of the apartment.

It is unclear what led to the dispute.

The identities of the man and woman have not been released.

So far, police have not said if the man faces any charges.
