Capt. Christian Hunt with the Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2 Action News that the stabbing suspect was drunk and got into a verbal argument with another person.

That person then kicked and punched the drunk man, according to Hunt.

The person ran away from the scene before police got there.

The stabbing victim went over to help the drunk man who had been beat up. Police said the man, who was dazed and confused, cut him in the neck with a box cutter.

The victim ran inside of the gas station and asked for help.

The stabbing suspect remained at the gas station until police arrived and arrested him.
