"I haven't slept in three days so it's hard. It's hard,” his aunt, Maria Jimerson, said.

Jimerson says she feels like she’s lost a son because she helped raise him ever since his mom died nearly a decade ago.

"I really cannot put into words what I felt in that moment,” she said. "I knew when I saw the crime scene tape."

Horton, who also went by Diamond, was a popular hairstylist who worked out of his home along Richland Road in southwest Atlanta.

On Friday, a client found Horton shot to death in his living room.

“It's too much to imagine and think about it. He didn't deserve it. He didn't deserve this,” Jimerson said.

Homicide detectives are staying quiet as they work the case.

“They have taken him from so many people that loved him. They don't understand the magnitude of the hurt that so many of us are going through at this very moment,” Jimerson said.

Family members told Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez that there was no forced entry, meaning that whoever did this was someone he knew and trusted.

”I keep trying to picture in my head, how did this happen?” Jimerson said.

The victim will be laid to rest on Saturday.
