Within five minutes, crews had arrived on the scene and heavy flames coming out of the left side of the restaurant.

Fire officials on the scene told Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway they do not believe the building was a total loss thanks to brick walls on the exterior of the building.

They say that in order to put some of the fire out, they had to remove portions of the roof.

Officials with Atlanta Gas Light say that when they arrived, the gas had already been turned off, but they took additional safety precautions to make sure the fire did not become more dangerous.

The fire caused some damage to the inside of the restaurant.

Because the restaurant was closed, the building was empty at the time of the fire.

Officials are still working to learn what caused the fire because the kitchen was in the back of the restaurant, not where the majority of the fire was.
